Al Ain University Celebrates Academic Excellence with International Institutional Accreditation (QAA) and a Five-Star QS Rating

Al Ain University celebrated two remarkable achievements that cement its position at the forefront of educational institutions in the UAE and the region. The university received international institutional accreditation from the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) and a “Five-Star” rating from QS Stars. These accomplishments attest to the quality of education the university provides and its commitment to academic excellence standards. This recognition enhances the university's status as a leading institution contributing to building an educational future that meets the demands of the global economy and evolving job market, while also aligning with the UAE’s vision for developing a world-class educational system.
The celebration was held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of Sheikh Theyab bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, and attended by Ms. Julie Tait, Director of Global Business Development at the QAA, UK, and Dr. Ashwin Fernandes, Executive Director for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia at QS. The event also welcomed a large number of distinguished guests, including representatives from ministries, government agencies, diplomatic missions, members of the Board of Trustees, university executives, faculty and administrative staff, students, and notable community figures.
In his speech, Dr. Noor Al Deen Atatreh, Vice Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, highlighted the important role of the wise leadership in supporting education in the UAE, stating: “Al Ain University's attainment of international institutional accreditation and a five-star rating reflects the ambitious vision of our wise leadership, which supports education and promotes innovation as an essential part of comprehensive development. This achievement is not only a source of pride for Al Ain University but also a testament to the nation’s efforts to provide a world-class educational environment.”
He added, “Our wise leadership, headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has prioritized education as a cornerstone of societal progress. The recent announcement of February 28 as UAE Education Day reaffirms that education is the foundation of our beloved nation's future. At Al Ain University, we aim to achieve this by adopting the highest standards of quality and innovation in education.”
Prof. Ghaleb El Refae, President of Al Ain University, emphasized that this accomplishment is a step toward achieving the university's strategic goals, stating: "We continuously strive to provide a distinguished educational experience that meets the needs of our students and society. Receiving these international accreditations reflects our efforts in developing academic programs, enhancing the research and innovation environment, and reaffirming the quality of education we offer, as well as our commitment to cutting-edge research and active community engagement. We remain dedicated to delivering world-class education that aligns with international standards, ensuring that Al Ain University maintains its leading position both locally and globally."
