Al Ain University Celebrates the Graduation of the 18th Cohort

Al Ain University celebrated the graduation of its 18th cohort under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and in the presence of Sheikh Hazza bin Khalifa bin Sultan bin Shakhbout Al Nahyan. The ceremony was held at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
The event was attended by Her Excellency Afra Al Sabri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, along with several high-ranking officials, esteemed representatives of diplomatic missions in the UAE, representatives from governmental and private institutions, members of the University's Board of Trustees, members of the University Council, deans, heads of departments, and the graduates' families.
Her Excellency Al Sabri delivered a speech on behalf of the ceremony's patron, in which he congratulated the graduates, saying: "We sincerely and wholeheartedly congratulate you, dear graduates, and express our expectations that, God willing, you will always be exemplary models of generosity and achievement."
In his speech during the ceremony, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan emphasized the significance of the day, noting that the graduates of Al Ain University have proven through their hard work and dedication that they are ready to embark on a new phase of their lives, proudly representing the university in the community and around the world.
His Excellency also expressed his profound gratitude to the university community, including the Board of Trustees, administration, faculty, and staff, saying, "Today's celebration is a tribute to all of them and their continuous and extraordinary efforts to ensure the success and prosperity of all students."
He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the families and friends of the graduates for their efforts and positive influence on the lives of the graduates.
The ceremony’s patron called on the graduates to take pride in Al Ain University, which has become a significant center of successful higher education with clear and continuous achievements. He stated, "It is a university committed to the highest international standards, utilizing modern learning technologies, emphasizing effective teaching methods, and providing state-of-the-art facilities, laboratories, libraries, and resources, all in a rich environment that places students at the heart of the university's mission."
He added, "Al Ain University prides itself on having distinguished faculty members, supporting purposeful scientific research programs, and maintaining strong ties with community institutions while being open to global universities and the global knowledge system. Above all, it constantly evaluates outcomes, using that knowledge for continuous improvement toward excellence. Topping all of this is the fact that most of the university's programs and colleges have received international institutional accreditation, and it holds prominent positions in various global university rankings, along with awards recognizing its successful performance and successive achievements."
His Excellency expressed his great pride in the support provided by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for education in the Emirates, stressing that education is the cornerstone for individual development and societal progress.
His Excellency addressed the graduates, reminding them of their significant responsibility in serving society and humanity, urging them to be role models in behavior and work, and noting that ambition and excellence are the pathways to success.
Dr. Noor Al Deen Atatreh, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees, expressed his pride in graduating a new cohort of educated and aware youth, affirming that the graduation ceremony reflects Al Ain University's vision of preparing an ambitious generation capable of serving its country and meeting its needs. He explained that this achievement would not have been possible without wise leadership with a forward-looking vision, committed to supporting academic institutions since the time of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, "may his soul rest in peace," and continuing the journey of progress with steady steps and a keen vision under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
Prof. Ghaleb Al Refae, President of Al Ain University, expressed his happiness and pride in celebrating the graduation of the new cohort, noting that this day is a culmination of the tremendous efforts made by students and faculty over years of hard work and dedication. He emphasized that the university is proud to graduate a generation equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to face future challenges and serve their country and society. He also highlighted that this achievement reflects the university's ongoing commitment to providing high-quality education and continuously developing its academic programs to meet the needs of both local and global labor markets.
The ceremony included graduates from the first and second semesters and summer sessions of the academic year 2023-2024, across various colleges and academic programs, in bachelor's, master's, and postgraduate professional diploma degrees in teaching.
