A Three-Port Polarization and Pattern Diversity Ring Antenna

Published in: IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters (Volume: 17, Issue: 7, Pages: 1324 - 1328, 2018)

Jul 01, 2018

Kushmanda Saurav / Nazih Khaddaj Mallat Yahia Antar

In this letter, a novel design of a three-port antenna exhibiting pattern and polarization diversity characteristics is proposed. The radiating element of the proposed antenna comprises a ring loaded with periodical interdigital capacitors. The selective excitation of the three ports of the antenna enables omnidirectional and dual-polarized broadside radiation patterns in an overlapping bandwidth of 73 MHz (2.574 -2.647 GHz). The mutual coupling between any set of the two ports in the three-por...

The Use of Loanwords in Emirati Arabic According to Speakers’ Gender, Educational Level, and Age

Published in: International Journal of Applied Linguistics & English Literature

Jul 01, 2018

Abdul Salam Alnamer Sulafah Alnamer

This study aims at identifying the loanwords commonly used in Emirati Arabic (EA), determining their origins and identifying the reasons behind using them. It also investigates the impact of gender, education, and age of speakers of EA on the use of loanwords. To meet these ends, a questionnaire was designed and distributed among 90 speakers of EA who were then classified into three groups: 1) gender; females and males, 2) education; educated and uneducated, and 3) age; young and old. The resul...

Evaluating the usefulness of e-learning management system delivery in higher education

Published in: Int. J. Economics and Business Research

Jun 25, 2018

Learning management systems (LMSs), such as Moodle, has been used by many academic institutions to improve teaching and student learning experience. This paper examines the use of LMS as a course delivery system and an electronic assessment (e-assessment) tool for improving the learning process. This study analyses educators’ perspective on the use of Moodle based on effectiveness, helpfulness, user-friendly interface design, and flexibility in delivering online courses. Quantitative and ...

Oscillation criteria for forced and damped nabla fractional difference equations

Published in: Journal of Computational Analysis and Applications

Jun 20, 2018

/ Hussam Al Rabai'ah

Based on the properties of Riemann–Liouville difference and sum operators, sufficient conditions are established to guarantee the oscillation of solutions for forced and damped nabla fractional difference equations. Numerical examples are presented to show the applicability of the proposed results. We finish the paper by a concluding remark.

Adult illiteracy is a major problem worldwide especially in developing countries. Adult Basic Education (ABE) programs working in this context are not very effective due to lack of motivation for the people who are not literate. The reason is inadequate learning content and content delivery methods. This situation calls for developing novel learning content and a learner-directed content delivery approach. This paper presents an exploratory study investigating the use of the Environmental Print...
