Web and Application Developer

Reference Number: 226 Al Ain

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Web and Application Developer to join our Information Technology team at Al Ain University. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in web development, and application programming, and a deep understanding of relevant technologies. The primary responsibilities include creating, developing, and managing the content of the university's website, as well as contributing to web application development projects within the Information Technology Center.

 

Key Qualifications:
 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

 Experience in PHP Frameworks like Yii, Laravel, ASP, VBNET, SharePoint, and Java.

 Certifications in ASP, VBNET, SharePoint, PHP, and Java.
 Proficiency in English and Arabic, both spoken and written.
 7 years of experience in the relevant field (UAE experience is a plus).
 Experience with C# .NET or similar languages (e.g., C, C++).

 Web Server Technologies like Apache, WAMP, LAMP, XAMPP, and Tomcat.
 Knowledge of SharePoint programming, design experience, and basic SQL programming (e.g., Oracle, MySQL).
 Familiarity with Oracle SOA Suite, Git, Apache JMeter, Google API, Junit or NUnit, XML, XSD, XSL, XPath, XQuery, XSLT, SOAP web services, JAXB/JAX-WS, Maven, Jenkins, or SOAPUI.

 

Responsibilities:
 Create site layout/user interface from provided design concepts using standard HTML/CSS, Bootstrap, and jQuery practices.
 Place and layout web pages, ensuring a consistent look and feel across all properties.
 Develop robust and user-friendly PHP-based web applications.
 Design and create relational database schemas.
 Manage all AAU website resources and sections.
 Install, Manage, and Support Moodle Infrastructure single-handedly.
 Maintain a consistent look and feel throughout all web properties.
 Track and report on website-related activities.

 

Desired Skills:
 2+ years of rapid web development experience using HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3,XML, PHP, and MySQL.

 Experience with Moodle (Open Source - Learning Management Solution).

 Solid understanding of web application development processes, from layout/user interface to relational database structures.

 Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator for graphics and design elements.

 Understanding of SEO best practices and the ability to implement them.

 Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

 Strong organizational skills to manage multiple timelines and complete tasks efficiently within specified timelines and budgets.
